Unifor’s Aviation Council is joining others in the Many vs. Money counter-protest during the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto where Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to meet with CEOs about investing in Canada’s future. Among the things they are considering including privatizing our airports.

Unifor’s aviation members need your solidarity.

Further privatization of Canada’s airports creates the possibility of Increase costs for passengers and the travelling public, threatens routes and connections serving rural, remote and northern communities, and eliminates jobs and deepen the use of outsourcing, contract flipping and precarious employment.

It also further depresses wages, benefits and working conditions for airport workers, weaken accountability and public oversight, and erodes public control over critical infrastructure.

We are looking for support at the rally to show strength in numbers and to hold signs and show the federal government how crucial it is to stop selling off our public airports. Can you show up alongside aviation workers on Monday, September 14 at 6 p.m. at Nathan Phillips Square?

Help protect Canadian jobs. Let the government know we won’t stand for selling off our skies. We will see you there.
