My beloved YVR community, we meet here again! In all seriousness, I want to first say thank you to those who nominated me. It’s not something I take lightly, so thank you for the support. Before joining WestJet almost 3 years ago, I was a manager at my previous job and held other leadership positions outside of that. In those roles I had many opportunities to support and advocate for my peers, as well as bring forward ideas for change to help the team overall. Those are things I would love to continue doing by stepping into this role to support you all as a Workplace Representative. I know firsthand how exhausting and overwhelming this job can become. And while I may not be able to change the circumstances that we work within for now, as a Workplace Representative I would do my best to support you in dealing with any challenges that may arise. I would be a safe space for you to express your thoughts and concerns, and an advocate for you whenever you need it. Regardless of your role in the airport or your place on the seniority list, we all deserve to feel valued and supported here. Once again, I want to say how much I appreciate the nomination. And to all who will be voting, thank you for your consideration!

Thank you for your nominations as Workplace Representative. Over my 13 years with WestJet, I have experienced many different positions such as GSA, CSA, BSA, ALC and GSLB. I have stood beside our coworkers during times of uncertainty such as covid pandemic and I understand how important solidarity within our workplace is for not only our careers at WestJet but also our mental health and wellbeing. I believe that every voice matters. I will stand up for fairness, protect our rights, and make sure your concerns are heard at every level. Together, I hope that we can create a workplace where respect, safety, and equality are more than just words. Thank you for your consideration.

Hello fellow YVR Westjetters! I am Les Saunders, you may know me as “Les is More” and I want to be your YVR workplace representative. I started my Westjet journey two years ago as a CSA. Since then I have shadowed a GSL, ALC and IREC. I currently hold relief positions as a BSA and GSLB. I think it is important to have an understanding of the different positions in our union. My commitment to you is to bring local issues here at YVR to the attention of union management. I will be someone to come to with questions about our collective agreement and I will support members with it’s application. Thank you for considering me to represent YVR as your workplace representative.

Hello everyone, my name is Cody. I’ve been a CSA member for almost two years, and I’ve also been a relief IOC member for the past six months. I’ve been in union environments for the past decade, working closely with business agents. My experience includes working with unionized screeners at CATSA in YEG airport, casino workers in Edmonton, and unionized staff at YVR airport before joining WestJet. I look forward to representing fairness in the workplace, equality, and adherence to our Collective Bargaining Agreement. Our members deserve someone with experience in various situations and a strong commitment to the CBA. If elected to represent our members, I will do my best to serve them well. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope I can count on your vote.

"Empowering Our Membership, Upholding Our Agreement." As a dedicated member of the WestJet YVR team as CSA and DDC RLF, I am officially submitting my candidacy for Workplace Representative. Our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) is only as strong as the people willing to defend it on the floor. I am running because I believe in a workplace where transparency is the standard, not the exception, and where every member feels confident that their rights are protected from the start of their shift to the end of their block. My Commitment to You: I will be a visible, vocal, and vigilant advocate for our base, focusing on the issues that impact our daily lives: Modernizing Scheduling: I will push for the modernization of the manual shift trade process and better schedules for both Part Time and FullTime employees, advocating for a digital system that is fair, fast, and removes the administrative hurdles currently slowing us down. Financial Stability: I am committed to assisting in the push for bi-weekly pay. Transitioning from current cycles to a consistent bi-weekly schedule is essential for our members' financial planning and peace of mind. Safe Working Conditions: Beyond the handbook, I will hold management accountable for YVR-specific operational safety, ensuring that staffing levels are sufficient to maintain a safe environment during peak #Time for Change
